Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership (VWIL)
VWIL’s leadership development program for women has earned a reputation nationally as a premier leadership development program for women and has become a model of success for other programs with similar aims. In the VWIL program, you learn about leadership and you develop as a leader. The foundation for leadership preparation is a liberal arts education. The heart of leadership development is the training you receive in the Corps of Cadets, in ROTC, and in the governance of your class. Physical training, sports, and the leadership challenge program round out the VWIL experience.
VWIL is the nation’s premier leadership program for young women. It is unlike any other U.S. military academy for women.
The female Corps of Cadets is organized according to military structure, and its comprehensive program builds tomorrow’s leaders in military and civilian service. VWIL is Virginia’s most ethnically diverse student corps and it combines academics, physical training, leadership practice, and co-curricular activities.
